Watches have been around for centuries, and in the world of men’s luxury watches, several big names are ingrained in our minds. Whether it’s a Rolex, or Tag Heuer, or Cartier, the list can go on forever even for someone that doesn’t wear or follow watches. However this list is about to get longer as Chanel, the French luxury brand has introduced its first ever men’s timepiece at Baselworld called, the Monsieur de Chanel.
The watch is gorgeous to the eyes and as Chanel’s international watch director, Nicolas Beau describes:
We are able to mix tradition and fashion. That’s the magic of Chanel
— Nicolas Beau
The watch has been in development since 2011, and includes a signature manual winding mechanical movement named the Calibre 1. The watch consists of 170 components (double complication) and involves other intricate features such as an instant jumping hour, and retrograde minute indication. The watch will cost a hefty 33,000 euros, with designs in beige gold and rose gold.
