IKEA must be thrilled from the buzz they have received from the IKEA-inspired Balenciaga Arena tote, but now even more, since a cap has been released proudly sporting the IKEA brand name – the IKEA Fratka Cap.
This week’s IKEA inspired accessory takes the form of a baseball cap, constructed from genuine recycled IKEA bags. The result is a signature IKEA-blue cap that is extraordinarily durable, and water-resistant thanks to the thermoplastic polymer IKEA bag material. Priced at $38, this 6-panel hat is branded with a yellow IKEA logo on the front, and has an adjustable strap on the back for sizing. The creatives behind the IKEA Fratka Cap are Los Angeles’ streetwear brands PLEASURES and CHINATOWN MARKET. They have also come up with their own marketing ploy, mimicking the cheeky response IKEA gave when the Balenciaga tote was released.
The IKEA Fratka caps were stocked in limited quantity with an inventory of 50 at CHINATOWN MARKET, and 100 at PLEASURES, and unfortunately have already sold out during the pre-sale. You can expect to see them around on May 10th, as that’s the date they will be shipped out.
